I Corinthians 1:18 is a verse that can be used for many thoughts.  YLT and some commentary from Biblos(dot)com suggest that people can be reconciled to the eternal, pardoned, as it were by this act, from our contemptible human nature we all posses to one degree or other, and move into a space of regeneration with peace power joy temperance love hope and goodness.
