I found this image of a cross made of mosaic like bricks from a model by Alec Gerrard of the floor of King Herods Temple. The impression that it left on my mind was one of odd coincidence, that the symbol of christianity (the cross) actually was a part of the great antagonist's floor. It seemed like poetic justice.
Anyway, then searching for references to Herod on Biblos(dot)com I found a verse where during Christ's trial he actually was in the presence of Herod. I wonder, if perhaps standing on the very spot where this mosaic was present.
Luke 23:8. "When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform some miracle."
This pattern is actually illustrated here in browns and plain colors, but could become something very vibrant in purples other blues, with bright colored cross and circles of varigated tones.
